Q. What is the # of Students by Selection Type and Subject report?

A. This report shows the number of students who have selected a given subject as a primary choice, 1st alternative, and 2nd alternative in the CI-H/HW Subject Selector. It will give you an idea of the demand for each subject. Note that if a student has listed the same subject as an alternative for both of his/her primary choices, that student would be counted twice.

Q. What is the Projected Enrollment report?

A. This report shows a breakdown of the number of potential students assigned to each section of a subject by the most recent iteration of the student scheduling algorithm. It also displays the number of students who are on the waitlist for each section, and enrollment caps, where applicable. Waitlist counts are broken out into two numbers: Assigned (student requested the subject, asked to be waitlisted if not scheduled, and was not scheduled into it) and Elected (student added him/herself directly to the waitlist for the subject.)

Q. What are projected freshmen?

A. Projected freshmen appear on both reports for fall terms only. They are a simulated estimate, based on the number of freshmen who expressed interest in the subject the previous fall term. Prior to the opening of online registration, the reports will include projected freshmen; you may exclude them by clicking the ‘hide projected freshmen’ link at the top of the report.

Q. Can I download and save a report?

A. Yes. Scroll to the bottom of the report, where you’ll find Export Options: CSV. Click on the CSV link, which will download the report to your computer. Depending on your operating system, browser and computer settings, you may be prompted first or it may happen automatically. Once the file has been downloaded, you can open the CSV file in Excel or another spreadsheet program.

Q. Will the CSV report have exactly the same information as what I see online?

A. There will actually be more information in the CSV file of the report. In both the # of Students by Selection Type and Subject report and the Projected Enrollment report, the number of students who have selected or been placed into each subject is broken down further by the student’s year.

Q. How often are the reports updated?

A. Changes to the # of Students by Selection Type and Subject report are dynamic; the report shows real-time data. The Projected Enrollment report data will be updated periodically until final schedules are run.

Q. How long will the planning reports be available?

A. The reports will always be available. They will display information for the current major term (fall or spring) from the time pre-registration opens for that term until pre-registration opens for the next major term.

Q. How do I adjust the enrollment cap for a subject?
